We have set some unrealistic beauty standards, based on appearances & complexion. We think having a dark complexion is a taboo, that being fat is outlawed. How many times do we look into mirrors and start body shaming ourselves? How often do we say stuff like “Oh, how fat I’m, need to loose some weight” “Oh how ugly is my nose.” “Let me try out this beauty cream as it claims fair complexion in days.” We scroll through our ig and start getting insecure just by looking at ppl’s airbrushed pictures and finely edited curves, we become overwhelmed with feeling of inadequacy. We fail to realize that what beauty actually is, is being yourself and accepting yourself irrespective of your appearance. Allah has made everyone beautiful in their own way. Leave off all the criticisms, you don’t need to switch your wardrode to something that would hide your shape, you can still wear your favourite skirt despite of your fat legs, you can still embrace your stretch marks. You can wear whatever makes you happy and comfortable. Because at the end of the day it’s your heart that matter the most🤍
